 Coming Up at AIE

April 26: Junior/Senior Night

A high school experience would not be complete without a special night for Juniors and Seniors. For AIE’s unique take on “prom,” individual students and couples dress up for their luxury transport to a catered meal at the Spire Restaurant downtown or a dinner cruise on the Captain’s Quarters’ Princess Yacht. The students spend these hours together enjoying conversations, recounting memories and taking pictures to capture the night. Upon returning to school, the students change into “regular” clothes: An ice cream sundae bar and basketball and volleyball in the gym keep us busy until midnight, when we travel to “Main Event” for pizza and fun until 3:00 am.

April 29 - May 2:  Teacher Appreciation Week

A week of activities and  opportunities for students and families to thank their teachers for the contributions they make to our lives and education.

May 5-11: High School Trip

The week-long high school trip in the spring is an annual highlight for many of our students in grades 9-12. Those choosing to travel with us all four years visit such places as Mt. Rushmore; Badlands National Park; the Alamo; the Houston Space Center; Graceland; Ruby Falls; St. Augustine and the Fountain of Youth; Biltmore Estate; the Statue of Liberty; the Liberty Bell; and Independence Hall, to name a few. This year the group will visit Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg, in Virginia; tour a chocolate factory in Hershey, Pennsylvania; visit an Amish homestead; walk the Freedom Trails in Philadelphia and Boston; and go whale-watching off Plymouth, Massachusetts. Students, teachers and parents bond during the bus ride as they play games, sing, watch movies and sleep between stops.  A great high school memory!

At the Academy For Individual Excellence, our goal is to teach our students four basic principles that will support them as adults living healthy lives:
